He's the owner of Bar Ferd'nand and wine director of the London Plane—and the owners of another wine bar are not too happy about that in comments. Other commenters are very happy. Feel free to add your two cents—I just responded myself.

Comments controversy aside, please do enjoy Marc Papineau's column about the wine pictured above, and wine in general. He loves wine and wants everyone to love it—he believes, if I may speak for him, that demystifying and un-asshatting wine, making it something we can all enjoy at any level of knowledge and at accessible prices, will improve all our lives. And his writing about wine is smart and unpretentious and funny and somewhat nuts.
