Spotted recently: this memorial erected by the United Daughters of the Confederacy Chapter 885—the Seattle chapter. The memorial was publicly unveiled May 23, 1926 "with the raising of General George E. Pickett’s battle-scarred 8th Virginia Battle flag from Gettysburg," says 885's web site.

It was made by James Wehn, the same artist who sculpted Chief Seattle.

Perhaps Wehn enjoyed separate sovereign nations.

Don't call it the Civil War.
