Major sections of that century must be entirely abandoned and we must also reclaim and redefine the whole notion of progress, which the 20th century adopted from the Victorians and has imprisoned us in to this day. Not all areas of human life need more development. There can be an end to certain things, a terminal point to some technology or need. The city will always be best for pedestrians.
