Now that we know a $15 minimum wage is wildly popular with Seattle's voters—seriously, 68 percent approval is insane—maybe you'd like to have your say, one way or the other, on the issue?
As I wrote last month, while the mayor's Income Inequality Advisory Committee meetings are closed to the public, the city council has now created a select committee to address the matter. And because city council's meetings are required to be open to the public—and council has said they want these ones to be more accessible than usual—that'll be the perfect place for you and all your concerned friends to show up and testify. (Hot tip: Just don't get in line behind Sam Bellomio and Alex Zimmerman.)
And now there's a schedule available for those meetings, or at least some of them:

Two evening meetings and a weekend one? That's sure better than usual, but it's also surely not enough to satisfy Kshama Sawant's repeated calls for these meetings to be accessible to working people—9:30 a.m. at City Hall isn't a lot of people's idea of accessible. That March 5 meeting, by the way, is scheduled to be a joint meeting with the mayor's committee; the mayor's committee is also hosting what's being called an "Income Inequality Symposium" on March 27 at Campion Ballroom at Seattle University (they haven't listed a time yet).
