Governor Inslee Calls for an Official "Moment of Loudness" for the Seahawks

Posted by on Tue, Feb 4, 2014 at 3:46 PM

You know how sometimes politicians or whoever announce a moment of silence to be observed after something very sad has happened? Well, in honor of the Seahawks' Super Bowl win, the governor has just announced, via official proclamation, the opposite:

I, Jay Inslee, Governor of the state of Washington, do hereby proclaim

a moment of LOUDNESS for the Seahawks at 12:12 pm on Feb. 5, 2014

and I urge the 12th Man to celebrate this momentous Super Bowl win and congratulate the team and themselves by making as much noise as possible for 30 seconds.

An image of the full proclamation (it's on the governor's Twitter feed here) is below the jump.

Didn't we already have a moment of loudness all Sunday night? Hasn't everybody lost their voices already?

If I can't hear you from down here in Portland, I'm gonna be solely disappointed.

Heard y'all fine the first time, thanks.

Besides, the sequels are always disappointing aren't they?

@9: Nope, it'll be over sometime tomorrow afternoon. They'll have forgotten about it by the weekend.

@9 AMEN. This football hysteria is way past its expiration date. Maybe seeing the team cruise down the street in "Ride the Ducks" tomorrow will finally put an end to it.

I hope everyone realizes what a traffic nightmare this will be. Lots of pissed off commuters clashing with a bunch of drunk Seahawks fans. Jails will fill up again.

@12: As someone involved in transporting a lot of people in King County every day, we do. We've discussed it at length. Answer: OH GOD THE HUMANITY!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, too soon?

@18: "Stop enjoying something I personally dislike!"

No one cares if you hate football. No one even comes close to caring. No one tells you to stop impotently complaining about minor shit online, something you seem to enjoy, but others may not.

By the way, we had the Ravens victory parade in Baltimore last year, and surprisingly, the city is still standing, and no one was brutally murdered. I think you guys will be fine.

Hide inside and close the blinds if it scares you, my friend.
