Toay starting at 8pm—NOT 5pm as previously stated but 8pm—the 2014 Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on CBS (aka KIRO 7), and Emily Nokes, Dave Segal, Kelly O, and I will be watching and commenting about the doings right here.

Of course a big part of this year's potential thrills hangs on the prospects of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who are up for a shitload of major awards, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year (for "Same Love" with Mary Lambert), and Best New Artist. Just as I will rejoice if the Seahawks win the Super Bowl, I will celebrate any and all Grammy wins by Macklemmore & Ryan Lewis—but one I really care about is "Same Love" for Song of the Year. If it wins, I will rip open my shirt, spray beer all over Kelly O's apartment, then dive through a plate-glass window. (Not crying on Sunday.)

Insane bonus: Tonight's performance of "Same Love" will involve not only Madonna, but also the on-air weddings of 34 couples (straight, gay, old, young, and of various races), officiated by a 3D hologram of Liberace Queen Latifah.

Join us, won't you? (Full list of this year's nominees here.)

Why do they always feel the need to juice up the song by replacing Mary Lambert? She's as much a creator of that song as Macklemore. Why not replace him with Jay-Z and Ryan Lewis with DeadMau5 while they're at it?

Still, very much hoping Same Love brings home some wins.

Don't think ML's being replaced...I imagine it'll be an addition, ala Jennifer Hudson at the VMAs. (Which is still kind of weird.)

Wait, really? The Grammy's are tape delaying themselves for the West Coast because....... Why?

I guess they at least have performances people want to watch, but delaying it 3 hours just makes it more likely people don't tune in, and watch some other way.

We will be watching the live broadcast via the Interwebs, ready to sing Mary Lambert's praises (along with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis). We are darned proud of this Cornish alum!

Hated the addition of JH on Same Love because why did someone think that was a necessary?

Watching the pre-show online with the great Cyndi Lauper as host.

The stunts sound pretty fun, but I won't get a chance to see them until tomorrow, dangit.

"The Grammy's are tape delaying themselves for the West Coast because....... Why?"

Because CBS has found they still get high ratings on the west coast even with the tape delay. There's no big incentive for them to to do west coast live.

However, this year the cbs.com stream will apparently show more of the actual happenings and not just backstage fluff.

Same Love is not a very good song. It sounds like it was written by a committee.

Wow, in one night Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have proved that they are better than the complete works of Queen, Led Zeppelin, and Pink Floyd. They aren't quite as good as the complete works of the Beatles just yet, but maybe within their next album they can rack up enough Grammys to put that to rest.

With that said, why is anybody watching this joke of an awards show?
