The revolution is dead:

Seattle - City Council unanimously adopted legislation today to allow the new Chief of Police to hire the best candidates for the top leadership positions of Deputy Chief of Police and Assistant Chief of Police in the Seattle Police Department (SPD).

You hear that? The legislation passed "unanimously." Which means that socialist firebrand Kshama Sawant—who we're told can't possibly compromise, collaborate, or play well with others—voted exactly the same way as the other eight members.

Consensus! It's a miracle!

Yes, Sawant may be far to the left of her colleagues on many economic issues. But can we all get past the silly notion that her very presence makes it impossible for the council to function in a collegial manner?
