We went to Antique Liquidators and Antiques at Pike Place last week to find old photos of strangers' weddings. Then we commissioned four fiction writers to make up stories about them.

Stacey Levine chose the photo below. Her story begins: "I just wanted to lock blond men's heads inside my legs."

Sherman Alexie chose this cemetery photo. The story begins: "I visit my father's grave site once a year to make sure the fucker is dead."

Sheila Heti's story—based on the photo below—begins: "She thought she was marrying James Joyce."

And Tao Lin spun out in a crazy direction with his, writing, "There's a 12 percent chance Julie and George and Mary were Photoshopped into this photo."
