Why didn't I think of this? My eyes have been permanently polluted by years of crappy theater PR photos—it's like a Superfund site in there—and the least I could've done was create some kind of monument to the damage.

Seattle has a couple of decent live-performance photographers—Tim Summers has a knack for capturing the dynamism of dancers and LaRae Lobdell has nudged theater photography in less literal directions.

But we still see a lot of this:

Over the years, we've toyed with the idea of always running the worst photo from the batch for the theater section on any given week—when it comes to theater PR, the bandwidth of crap is much more varied and colorful than the passable stuff—but we decided that would be too cruel to the rest of you.
