An hour ago, we got word that Will Bielawski—the harp player at the silent-reading party at the Sorrento—is ill and can't play tonight. But we live in a beautiful city full of beautiful musicians, two of whom have agreed to step in at the last minute. Sam Anderson, cellist in the band Hey Marseilles, will be playing improvisational cello from 6 pm to 7 pm. And then Katie Kate, a rapper who's also a trained classical musician (and who was a 2013 Stranger Genius Award finalist), will be playing improvisational piano from 7 pm to 8 pm. Awesome.

The reading party starts in less than an hour in the Fireside Room at the Sorrento Hotel, 900 Madison Street. It's all ages and free.
