E-book sales have been slightly down all year long, and now Liz Bury at the Guardian says that 62% of 16 to 24 year-olds prefer print books to e-books.

Asked about preferences for physical products versus digital content, printed books jump out as the media most desired in material form, ahead of movies (48%), newspapers and magazines (47%), CDs (32%), and video games (31%)

E-book adoption was obviously never going to keep rising at hockey-stick graph levels, but humanity's sentimental attachment to physical books seems like it's going to be tougher to overcome than the love of, say, CDs or DVDs. Still, it should be noted that people who participated in this study were children at a time when e-books weren't popular. When young children today are old enough to be interviewed about their preference, we're bound to see that number slip to something a little less lopsided.
