Not that you have any choice, since Betty Patu is running unopposed for Seattle School Board Position No. 7.
But, her appearance at the tail end of this year's ballot does provide a glorious opportunity to reprise the Stranger Election Control Board's endorsement of Patu from 2009:
In her endorsement meeting, Patu—in the context of an anecdote about personally connecting with students—told the SECB that she once talked down a former student who was holding another student at gunpoint. "Give me that gun," she barked, barely blinking. Betty Patu, we will literally do anything you say.
The SECB doesn't endorse in uncontested races, which is why there are no new tales of Patu's bad-assery this year.
