In one of the strangest moments of a strange few weeks on Capitol Hill, a House stenographer broke into a rant about God, the Constitution and Freemasonry as representatives cast their votes Wednesday on a deal to reopen the government. "He will not be mocked," the stenographer, later identified as Dianne Reidy, yelled into the microphone at the chamber's rostrum. "The greatest deception here is that this is not one nation under God. It never was. It would not have been. The Constitution would not have been written by Freemasons. They go against God." She was quickly escorted away from the lectern by floor staff, but continued: "You cannot serve two masters. Praise be to God. Praise be to Jesus."
If Dems ran the House: Fox News would be reporting that a Christian lady who wanted to pray was dragged out of the place. #HouseStenographer
I underestimated the willingness of Fox News to pander to the martyr complexes of rightwing Christian lunatics:
Last night, after the House voted to reopen the government, a House Stenographer named Dianne Reidy hijacked the House microphone andwent nuts, launching into a tirade about Freemasons and God before being dragged out by security.... This morning FOX & Friends' hosts Steve Doocy and Elisabeth Hasselbeck made the laughable suggestion that Reidy is being persecuted for her religion.
