Have you taken your eyeballs for a walk downtown lately? Specifically, past 8th Avenue and Pine Street, where developers are in the midst of constructing a 40-story apartment tower across the street from the Paramount? Here's an artistic rendering of what the building's supposed to look like.

You could call this modern, I guess. As interpreted by a troupe of Romanians. From 1992. Worse, the building is spitting distance from Olive 8—you know, that condo tower with all the blue flappy things that remind everyone of Hollywood maxi pads.

Basically, it is my opinion that this two-block radius is fast becoming an epicenter of ugly. But then, people tell me all the time that I have no taste. To the polls!
