It's Friday afternoon, work is winding down, and you're itching to cast judgement on something. I'm here to help with a good ol' fashioned Slog straw poll! Let's talk mayors, shall we? The November election is less than two months away and after August's political lull, this race is once again heating up.

On the one mayoral hand, we've got current mayor Mike McGinn, who this week protested the Russian consulate in support of gay rights, announced a city investment of over $14 million on safety improvements near schools, and talked about creating an Immigrant Voting Rights Taskforce, which will explore more equitable placement of ballot boxes throughout the city, promote voter registration deadlines for individuals who have just become citizens, and explore linguistic assistance for non-English speakers.

On the other mayoral hand, we've got state senator Ed Murray, who this week also protested the Russian consulate in support of gay rights, held a press conference announcing his anti-crime platform—which outlines his priorities of selecting a new police chief, accelerating the implementation of the Department of Justice Consent Decree, and promoting "responsible" gun safety—and was endorsed by his fourth city council member, Bruce Harrell.

Now then, to the polls!
