The attack on those who text (an important human activity) while driving (a much less important human activity) is intensifying and spreading. CNN:
We've all heard the dictum: Don't text and drive. Now a New Jersey state appeals court has an addendum: Don't knowingly text a driver — or you could be held liable if he causes a crash.
The solution? One is already here: public transportation (you can text and surf while on the bus or light rail). The other is in the future:
Nissan has announced plans to release multiple autonomous vehicles by the year 2020. The auto maker’s goal is to have the technology available across its model range within two vehicle generations, and in order to accomplish this, Nissan’s engineers are currently carrying out intensive research on the technology, alongside teams from the world’s top universities, including MIT, Stanford, Oxford, Carnegie Mellon and the University of Tokyo.
So you can either wait for Tomorrowland or wait for a bus...
