Lunchtime Quickie: The Steadfast Edith Macefield

Posted by on Tue, Aug 27, 2013 at 12:16 PM

A nice lady at Seattle's Caffe Vita just sent me the first chapter in a new series of videos set to honor local, real-life legends called STEADFAST. This one features Edith Macefield. I almost forgot about her, and her historic fight to keep her Ballard home. It was good to watch this and remember her today. What a badass. May Seattle never forget 'cha, Edie.

More info about the video here.

Just when you thought hipsters were over. They're back with a vengeance!

Graduate from The Art Institutes. Move to Ballard. And five minutes later get a (really sloppy) tattoo swearing eternal love and commitment to total bullshit myth of a dead woman you know from Wikipedia and some garbled shit passed on via a third hand news report from -- holy shit! -- China.

Edith forever! Fixies forever! Winona forever!

Fucking parasites. You twits are the reason Ballard had demand for a Trader Joe's and an LA Fitness. Own it.

@1, I shall twirl the tips of my waxed mustachio while pondering your comment over a single-origin cold brewed coffee here at Stoneburner at Hotel Ballard.
