Hysterical Literature is a video series featuring women reading books aloud as, below a table and outside the view of the camera, someone brings them to orgasm with a vibrator. According to the site, the series, which is directed and created by a man, "explores feminism, mind/body dualism, distraction portraiture, and the contrast between culture and sexuality." The first (and probably best) video in the series featured porn star Stoya, but the eighth and newest edition is maybe Hysterical Literature's biggest get yet: Margaret Cho.

I like it a lot when sexiness and books happen at the same time. (I enjoyed the Naked Girls Reading series, for example.) If you have some doubts about the leeriness/creepiness of the Hysterical Literature series, this podcast where Cho talks about the experience might offer some contextual awareness. Like everything related to sex it's complicated, but Cho seems to trust that it's coming from a good place.
