Tonight, it’s Wine Rocks Seattle, with beer, booze, food trucks, live music, a lovely waterfront setting, and, of course, WINE! Bonus: The whole thing benefits Food Lifeline.

Tomorrow, sample desserts while hearing the sweet stories behind them at the book signing for CakeSpy blogger Jessie Oleson Moore’s new cookbook, The Secret Lives of Baked Goods. Balance all that sugar and frivolity at Pastors for Peace’s Cuba Caravan sendoff, where you can learn about the US embargo of Cuba and eat (likely wholesome) potluck fare.

Saturday brings an embarrassment of culinary riches, with Seattle Tilth’s Urban Farm and Chicken Coop Tour (bees! bunnies! mini-goats! CHICKENS!), the Ballard SeafoodFest (grilled/fried/braised/lye-soaked sea creatures! Uff-da!), Madison Valley’s pre-Bastille Day extravaganza (food! Wine! Food! Mimes! Food!), Snoqualmie Casino’s Bootlegger’s Ball (booze!), and Seattle Center’s Polish festival (sausages!) all vying for your attention.

Sunday is Bastille day, which means you really should celebrate the nation that brought us Camembert, baguettes, and the term gourmand. Drink wine and stuff your face at Le Pichet, Bastille, the Corson Building, or any of the places around town throwing Bastille Day parties. Alternatively, Dragon Fest brings the opportunity to sample food from many of the International District’s seemingly infinite restaurants for just $2 (!) a taste, as well as a Japanese-style beer garden.
