This morning, I told you that Granta editor John Freeman is going to be at the Central Library tonight with two authors from the Best Young British Novelists issue of his magazine. This afternoon, The Bookseller just published this bit of news:

Granta magazine editor John Freeman is leaving the publication after five years, with his final day to be 15th July, following the launch of the summer issue, Travel.

The article goes on to say that Freeman will teach creative writing and publish a book. The book world is currently very upset at the news that Freeman is moving on, as he has done a lot to make Granta relevant again in his tenure as an editor. This Seattle event will be Freeman's first public appearance since this announcement was published; an intrepid audience member might be able to get some information about Freeman's departure tonight.
