In Europe, They All Look Gay

Posted by on Mon, Apr 22, 2013 at 3:38 PM

Even the anti-gay-marriage activists look gay.

In what Gay Star News calls "the most homoerotic anti-gay protest ever," young men are "stripping off their shirts, writing slogans on their chest and parading across France against gay marriage." Hallelujah:

NOM really ought take cues from these guys.

Have you seen Brian Brown? No thanks. Not to be all body-shamey, but no thanks.

Though the law is guaranteed to pass Wednesday, these shitbirds are planning a big anti-gay-marriage demonstration for next month anyway. On my birthday, when I am going to be in town. I'll be able to counterprotest alongside all my lovely French LGBTQsies and allies, which will be a nice present.

Here's a fantastic video released by a French actor yesterday, with a handy translation. "Rassurez-vous":…

I was going to make some crack about 'Parisblues,' but then I realized these guys are doing something besides just spouting off as many insults and slurs as they can pack into a paragraph, so the comparison wasn't really apt.

They don't look healthy. And why hide your face? These guys look like somebody paid them to do this.

"Save kids" "no gay marriage" and "democracy is dead". This is France. Last I checked, they speak French there.

@6 - Yeah, that's weird. It's almost like they're being organized by an American group, a national organization that purports to be "for" marriage, as a show for American eyes.

The anti-gay marriage activists look gay here, too. The only difference is, over here they really are gay.

And @7 --- oh, stop that crazy talk. That would never happen.

It's taboo to say, "That's so gay", and yet, that is indeed so very gay.

It's comforting to know that the RWNJ's overseas take the same crazy pills ours do.

I'm starting to think that mardi gras themed circuit party I went to years ago may have actually been a French gay marriage protest,

@12 one of the fascinating things I learned about France is that most people take powders, not pills.

So chances are, the RWNJs overseas are taking crazy powders in their gassy water.

@15: I thought the French preferred delivery method for pharmaceuticals was the suppository? That's what they told me in school. TMI, I called it at the time, but it stuck in my head.

The victory of the gay rights movement isn't just the expansion of norms to accommodate gays, it's the recognition that gay is a part of the norm. We're all a little gay, and even the most homophobic culture will reflect that.
