It happened around the corner from some cops, but the suspect managed to escape, on foot, according to SPD's report.

The officers were hindered in their ability to apprehend the suspect due to the high-density of rush hour pedestrian and vehicular traffic, the chaotic scene on the sidewalk and the need to preserve the crime scene and potential evidence.

The victim was 20 years old and "stabbed numerous times," according to the Seattle Times. He went to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
