Sorry for the long Gun Nuts posting hiatus, but the day job has been busy.

So, right now in Texas, we see the fantasy life of Wayne LaPierre and the NRA come true. All of these selective readers of the Second Amendment ("well regulated" is written in invisible ink, "shall not be infringed" is bold caps) love to talk about the day when the Government will oppress good Americans, and the oppressed will rise up and rebel against the oppressive government, thanks to the guns that government had to let them have all along due to the sacred Second Amendment.

Well, the second assassination this year of a local prosecutor in Texas enacts just this scenario.

Kaufman County District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia, were discovered with fatal gunshot wounds at their home near Forney, Texas, on Saturday. Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was gunned down in January.
[. . .]
While he would not discuss possible suspects in the case, law enforcement officials are widely believed to have focused on the prison-based Aryan Brotherhood in the still unsolved Hasse killing. Kaufman County is considered a regional stronghold of the gang . . .

Aryan Brotherhood gangsters or not, let's be perfectly clear: these events are exactly what the NRA says will happen someday on a national scale. Just getting a little head start down in Texas. This isn' t some aberration that horrifies Gun Nuts: it's their Second Amendment Solutions dream come true.
