"Our skirts go flying all the time, so we're used to it, so we don't find it that offensive."

It's the crotch shot that rocked Canada! Kind of, but everyone's being really nice about it, and it's really not that bad, even the skater—who looks downright jaunty, and as unpornographic as only a Canadian in such a position could—says so:

Oh, Canada! Why can't we be you!

But what are we supposed to tell our children when they pick up their morning copy of Globe and Mail? They're going to find out that women have crotches! Surely our society as as doomed as Saddam and Gamorrean.

It is a cute photo.

That's causing a stir in Canada? I doubt that would even cause a stir in Texas.

I love Canada. I want to be Canadian.

I'm not nice enough, I know, but I still want to be Just Like Them.

[God] bless Canada.

Also: I liked the picture; it's cute. Though I can see why some thought it was inappropriate.

The political dialogue is more reasonable, but I think it serves certain interests for it to be so stupid down here. On the other hand, Stephen Harper is a corporate shill who is doing everything possible to ruin the environment and sell out Canada's interests for his own payoff when he leaves office.

I don't understand why they let these hussies parade their womanhood around in public like that. These trollops should be wear more modest attire, as befitting their position as the young flowers of Canada. They should be wearing ankle-length skirts, by Jove, and skating around in decorous figure-eights -- not flinging their naked thighs about and ripping open their hymens in front of the cameras!

Canada is, after all, the home of the beaver.

I am Canadian, and I couldn't give a dang what body parts are shown on some obsolete bits of dead-tree-media. Nice picture, though.

I'm really honestly confused. I expected to see double labial bulges or hair or something, but it's just a skater doing a high kick? Isn't that kinda what they do? Also, she looks so genuinely happy!

More Non-news. It's not like there aren't important issues out there.

A lot of the "outrage" seems to stem from the fact that she is 17, which some people still consider a young child, apparently.

I'm Canadian. It's okay, but you guys definitely aren't missing anything.

So I click to read the editor's note, and read the apology (about a total non-issue imo). Then I see on the site the top-rated video is behind the scenes at naked yoga class!

Canada really is a land of smut! Let's burn it down!

@16 we're working on it. We're still melting the ice, but once that's gone, we'll proceed with the burning.
