Paul Ryan Tells the Truth for Once

Posted by on Wed, Mar 13, 2013 at 2:17 PM

Now that the Ryan Budget has been unveiled as a total fiction, it's refreshing to hear Paul Ryan tell the truth for once: "'We're not going to give up on destroying the health care system."

(Thanks to Slog tipper Michael.)

No, he said it. It was clearly a slip of the tongue and meant something else but after the repubs ran with the "you didn't build that" line, I feel no obligation to ignore the hilarity of this misstep.

How can this guy claim with a straight face that tax breaks for the rich and cutting social programs are necessary to "protect the middle class" and "repair the safety net". What a freaking zealot. Doesn't matter to him that everything he stands for has been a colossal failure and that it is rejected by ~80% of the people, he'll keep peddling his religion.
