It would have been sweet if that guy snuffed the video taker.

Best way to deal with bullies is to call them out and confront them...good for you!

Who's he going to file a complaint with?

Oh, that guy is going to find out whether he likes a public identity as a homophobe or not!

(P.S. I know someone named Turtle, so no surprise there, but I've never met a Burkybile and figured it was a personally invented name. It isn't! Burkybiles thrive in Missouri.)

I was getting nervous....

@4 Ouch. Turns out this guy has a history of bad acts, including scaring children and parents.

I wasn't sure what the video maker was after. The guy he was following is clearly a jerk. Who do you file a complaint with? God?

He seemed like he was trying to start a fight.

"It happens all the time."

No, it's doesn't 'happen' - it's something that these douchebags DO. Quit absolving yourselves of responsibility for your actions by claiming that they're like the weather, something that just happens on their own.

I have a friend who knows no fear, and who would have said, "Would you mind giving me your address so that I can insult you for no reason while you walk down your own street?"

What Turtle did was even cooler.

@7 I think he wanted to confirm the guy was a jerk and get a better face shot so he could put him on youtube, but also to give him a chance to apologize or explain. Bet if he had apologized and said something about having a bad day blah blah, Turtle probably wouldn't have posted it. Instead, he showed that terrorizing his neighbors is just one of his regular hobbies, which we now find it, it is.

Is it just me, or does slick hair walk with a bit of a swish?

So... ignoring the poor manners and shove, I'm inclined to think the dude with the cell phone is being silly than "confrontational". With whom would he file a complaint?

I have no problem with shaming people into better behaviour but this seemed like he was attempt to provoke more than the shove.

Also, "Turtle" needs to exercise more.

Trolls will troll about anything won't they? Whether it's concern-trolling (the hand-wringing over whether or not shooting the video was the right response and how he would file a complaint) or straight up trolling ("...'Turtle' needs to exercise more." That's his real name fuckface--also, have you seen what he looks like? Or are you judging his shortness of breath in the video, which may be as much about his nervous energy at doing something brave. What equally brave thing did YOU do this weekend, troll?) you are all jealous that someone directly and literally confronted their fear. Show me evidence of YOUR actual courage or shut the fuck up.

Question about a small part of this:

Slick is walking away the entire time, asking to be left alone, etc. Turtle keeps following him with his phone camera. At one point, Slick pushes Turtle, and Turtle says, "That's assault."

Is it? I mean, homophobe/asshole aside, at that point it seemed like Turtle was just harassing the guy. And Slick got agitated and got physical... if it had escalated and Slick had actually attacked him, would that have qualified as illegal assault? What are you supposed to do when someone's following/harassing you like that?

@14,

Shoving someone is assault, and being followed and verbally harassed is not an excuse. If it were, it would be open season on paparazzi and anti-choice protesters.

@14: In your 'concern' you are confusing the harasser with the harassed.

looks like youtube have pulled down that video because it's considered harassment, but they haven't pulled down this one yet; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYgxzRlsg…

@16: I don't believe I used the word 'concern'. And no, I don't believe I mistook what was happening in that video. Using a slur in passing doesn't count as harassment, but following someone around yelling at them does. Neither party in this encounter was acting appropriately.

@14, 18. Slick hair brought it on himself. Don't want to be chased and questioned by somebody? Then don't go around calling people faggots!

And please remember, cell-phone moviemakers: The phone should be used perpendicularly when filming.

I don't like that he picks on teenage boys or strange gay men. Dude's messed up clearly, and with that saunter of his I think I can see what the problem is.

Ridiculous to be discussing a name. The obvious point here is that the slick one somehow thinks his behavior is ok. To throw derogatory names out on any street to an adult or child is disgusting. Hopefully this will put an end to "Slick's" behavior. Come on. This isn't a gay thing. We are past that by now. We are supposed to be in a live and let live society and sexual orientation, race, color-whatever should not matter because it doesn't. The fact that this man (or anyone) would think it is ok to behave like that is pure ignorance. It is ugly and sad.
Turtle handled himself better then I would have.

Very proud!
