For rizzle...

Good to know that even He, the ape that created universe and time itself, has to keep up with the times.

The History Channel has been playing a bible stories series.
To me, that's like the Science Channel promoting creationism, but whatever. THC has been breaking records for viewers. Xtianiacs love CGI miracles.

@1,
I actually don't mind the History Channel doing its bible thing... I mean, even if it's all make believe, christianity and the bible ARE a part of history. So it's fitting.

I thought this was about Jeb Bush.

And St. Patrick is up there without even paying for promotion. Obviously he was a better snake handler.

@1: The Bible is a historical record seasoned with allegory.

@5, I lean toward an allegorical soup salted with history.

@6: Either pairs well with a Bordeaux.

I'm pretty sure that Jeb Bush is the Anti-Christ.

Technology is a great help also for sharing God's word today.

God is dead and, despite the old saying, a lot of people seem to care. Who knew?

@1 I thought the History Chanel was basically the World War II Chanel because that was what they played twenty hours a day. I haven't watched it in ages. I gave up on those phoney baloney "learning" chanels a long time ago. I remember when the Discovery Chanel was actually good and they played indie and foreign films on Bravo. I guess that market has moved onto the internet and it makes better economic sense to recreate Bible stories (dear god) and silly faux-reality shows.

I wonder if they'll cover the Koranic stories. I'm sure making a made for tv series about a man who married a 12 yo girl would piss off the Muslim world.

@9: Considering all the Christian-bashing on Slog, is that a bad thing?

I wonder how they'll portray the parts with rape, murdered children, people torn apart by bears, and God endorsing slavery...

@14 when do facts become bashing? Seriously curious about this. BTW I'm happy to stop bashing Christians as soon as they stop trying to enforce Bronze Age ideals on my uterus, my friends' genitals, and the education of children.
