Poet Kary Wayson and dancer Ezra Dickinson will be neither reciting poetry nor dancing. Theyll just be sitting there silently reading whatever they feel like reading, like everyone else.

Can it please be Wednesday already? Please? All I would like to do is sink into a gigantic chair with my gigantic book and not look up for hours. While a man plays the harp. And waiters bring people things. Alas, we are two whole days away from the start of the silent-reading party. Forty-eight long hours. This is your friendly reminder to get to the Fireside Room in the Sorrento Hotel early, or else right on time, at 6 pm on Wednesday, to get a good seat. And also your reminder that the reading party is ALL AGES (yes!) and it's FREE (indeed!). Plus, of course, as always, there will be illustrious company (including the poet Kary Wayson and the dancer/choreographer Ezra Dickinson*) and affordable booze (Manhattans are on special for $5).

Everything else you need to know about the reading party is right here.

*An interview with Ezra Dickinson will appear in Wednesday's edition of A&P, the arts quarterly produced by The Stranger. I'll post that interview here on Slog on Wednesday morning.
