Bikini Baristas Arrested

Posted by on Fri, Feb 22, 2013 at 2:40 PM

Via, um... Eater:

Police in Everett, WA, say they have arrested three baristas from a local coffee stand for indecently exposing themselves to customers, according to Q13 Fox. The three women — one of whom is actually a 16-year-old girl — all work at two separate Grab-N-Go coffee locations.

We've written before about Bikini Baristas, the Everett Police Department, and THESE TOTALLY NSFW—YOU HAVE SOOOO BEEN WARNED—PHOTOS from a stake-out conducted by the cops there in 2009.

@33: I'm sure people are just forcing you unconsensually to go to the naughty coffee stands, there's no other coffee in the whole State of Washington! Ban them all so you won't be forced to ogle the girls creepily. For their own good!

(Also, you're legitimately insane.)

@32 - I didn't say I was offended. I said commercial sex shouldn't be in everyone's face without their consent. It's not my fault that you can't read.

@25: " Right, I must be stupid for not wanting my kids to think that showing one's crotch is a decent way to make a living, asshole."

That statement has nothing to do with what I was quoting. You have no "right" to be offended by how someone consensually makes their living.

I'll check off the "stupid" checkbox.

Maybe instead of a sex-based coffee shop we could have a violence based coffee shop? One that depicted the type of stuff we see on network television?

Special Victims' Unit Espresso - bring the kids! It's wholesome and socially acceptable!

@28: Porn and disgustingly bad hygiene. No cheap coffee is worth the risk of getting gonorrhea in your throat.

@26 - The NSFW photos at the link in the story show that it isn't about bikinis, it's about porn.

@21: i accidentally went to one with my wife & stepdaughter on the way up to Steven's. i was mortified, but they thought it was hilarious.

now we will go to them on the way up just because mrs. solomon likes to critique other women.

Does this mean one can't wear a bikini at a pool or beach in Everett? If it's illegal selling espresso, should be illegal everywhere.

@21 sometimes. I agree that there should be some way, some symbol, something, that'll let people know whether Cowgirls espresso is a stand owned by a former texan or a place one should avoid on the way to daycare.

It's not a big deal, but people shouldn't just be surprised when they drive up with a view they weren't expecting.

Otherwise, I have no problem with the stands. Apparently I'm a bad feminist....

Son, are you high or just stupid?

@21 - Someone wagging their parts at the window of the bikini coffee places I have seen would be visible from the street, but I don't know about this case specifically. Anyhow, it raises the issue of what to do if it became a common sale practice.

@20 Are people going to the Bikini Barista not knowing what it is? Are they bringing their kids? I doubt it.

@17 - It's not just about nudity, it's about commercializing sexuality. I don't think it's right to make it part of everybody's environment without their consent.

My only problem with these establishments (and there are several in and close to Bothell where I live) is that some of them don't clearly advertise what kind of coffee place they are so it is possible to accidentally drive through. Happened to both my wife and in-laws on separate occasions, and they were so embarrassed they ended up with crappy espresso instead of just driving away to another place that might have something drinkable. I think the state should require that they clearly advertise they're an adult establishment, with an identifiable logo or something.

I solve this problem by not getting espresso at little drive-through places, because even the ones that don't have naked ladies usually serve pretty bad coffee.

What a fine country we live in that some guy can hire a food prep person and dictate that "this must be performed in your underwear". And people decry feminism. Egads.

The key word in this story is not "bikini" or "barista" or "indecent" or "NSFW". It's "Everett".

Couldn't they just have a drive through ogle stand? Is the coffee necessary?

So do the police have more proof that these women exposed themselves? And would this mean that they took child porn photos?

You have to admit "Grab-N-Go" is a truly appropriate name for a lingerie coffee hut.

When vice is suppressed, as it is in our strangely puritanical state, this is what happens.

Let the men get their coffee and their jollies. And let them have a drink when they're at a strip club. The world will not end.

Hands down (or hands-on, perhaps?), the skeeviest part of 99 is the stretch from Mukilteo Speedway junction up to 112th in Everett. I think I counted at least 5 espresso shacks with mysteriously tinted windows, and 1 or 2 "massage" parlors. Goood times.
