Anti-climate-change conspiracy nuts funded by . . . wait for it. . . right-wing dark money! I love the Guardian.

And this surprises who...?

@2 It shouldn't surprise us but it bears repeating considering the stakes and the likely actors behind the denial campaign (fossil fuel industry).

@3 The hypocrisy of these groups talking about "personal responsibility" when they, themselves, are so blatantly irresponsible is mind boggling. Clearly and as usual they exempt themselves from taking any responsibility.

Prove to me, right now, definitively, that "Global Warming" is man-made as opposed to just a cycle in the earth's cycle.

I'm waiting...

Time's up. That is right, you CAN'T prove it. Now go on with your little recycling and save-the-monkey campaigns and leave us alone. The evil capitalist Al Gore has you in his grips.

@5 We now have a vast array of instruments, spread across the globe in oceans, lands, winds and space. Thousands of the most brilliant minds have compiled mountains of data and concur there is a real problem. That's enough for me.

@5 The Society of Petroleum Engineers officially supports the human origins of global warming.

Yes, and the instruments affirm that there is some global warming. But they do not prove WHY.

Probably just one of earth's cycles. Hot and cold just like a woman...

Get over it and get back to work.

@5 and 8: You can start here if you're really interested in an answer to your question.

Short answer: This research has already been done. The resulting models account for observed data and are internally consistent. If you think something else is going on, it is now up to you to provide a superior alternative explanation for why warming is occurring. Here's how you can accomplish this: Identify the mechanism behind this natural cycle, and explain why drastically increased C02 levels have no effect on temperature, in spite of the fact that every working model predicts otherwise.

Bonus points if you can manage to provide an explanation that does not once mention Al Gore.
