Like a Valentine: The Art of Jeffry Mitchell closes Sunday.

There's also a great new micro-site devoted to Mitchell—with images, audio, and video interviews—on the Henry Art Gallery's web site. Check it out.

The museum acquired the large, lumpy, erotic, green resin slab sculpture Within a Motherfucking Budding Grove (1993) in conjunction with Like a Valentine. Yay!

While you're there, do not miss Part II of Now Here Is Also Nowhere on the museum's bottom floor—the two shows only overlap for two days. I just got a preview of Now Here this morning. It's different in subject matter but similar in feel to the first part of the exhibition (whose overarching subject is intangibility). I reviewed Part 1 in November.

Jeffry Mitchell for President, or ruler of the universe. What a wonderful guy, and an amazingly talented artist.
