Why the "Julia Roberts Obstacle Course" is the Greatest of All Obstacle Courses

Posted by on Tue, Jan 22, 2013 at 11:09 AM

I make no excuses—I loooooove the Fuse show Billy on the Street (Fridays, 10 pm) where comedian Billy Eichner picks random people in public to play bizarre game-show style contests. BUT CHECK THIS OUT! In the latest episode, Billy commissions former SNL funny gal Rachel Dratch to run the "Julia Roberts Obstacle Course" which is laden with tons of references to most of Julia's absolutely terrible movies. Is it fun? YES! Is it exciting? YES! And does Rachel have to crawl through a giant burrito to find a picture of James Gandolfini in a huge pile of guacamole? YES, YES, A THOUSAND TIMES YES!!!

The whole time, Rachel Dratch is thinking, "Why the fuck did I ever leave SNL? That bitch Tina Fey screwed me over by talking me into playing bit characters on 30 Rock. This is what my career has become".

That was awful. I got to the second obstacle.

Banna: according to her memoir, she isn't bitter. But maybe this would rate a new chapter.

She wasn't bitter but I bet she has her moments; say, right after crawling through a big, fake burrito full of condiments for a fucking dishwasher.

@3, yes, I'm sure a truly epic return gig with the on-fire Eichner really made her sad. And now that it's a must-see she's probably SUPER depressed about that as well.

I don't understand why anyone thinks Billy on the Street is funny
