Had to look up "geoduck." That also explains (I think) the arm-sized clubs of meat arranged at its base. How does one eat those anyway?

The geoduck is a thing of beauty. I'm starting to like that Inslee guy.

How is it that the Geoduck is not the state bird, and possibly also the state vegetable, the state flower, and the state gem - indeed, the state everything? Does anybody greatly care about the Goldfinch?

Go, Geoducks go,
Through the mud and the sand,
let’s go.
Siphon high, squirt it out,
swivel all about,
let it all hang out.

Go, Geoducks go,
Stretch your necks when the tide
is low
Siphon high, squirt it out,
swivel all about,
let it all hang out.

Geoducks are one of the longest lived creatures on Earth, with the oldest one known being 168 years old. I make a habit of of NOT eating things older than I am.
