Seven Short Stories about Drones

Fiction writer Teju Cole posted seven short stories about drones on Twitter yesterday—well, seven famous works of literature truncated by drone strikes. Here's the first:

Is there some grammatical subtlety I'm missing that makes that apostrophe correct? Because I'm not seeing it.

This guy writes for a living?
