Mike McGinn Will Anounce "Intentions" in Mayor's Race

Posted by on Wed, Jan 9, 2013 at 11:21 AM

Today at a presser—which was first scheduled for 12:30 but has been pushed back to 1:15 p.m. because "we have invited a number of people to this announcement"—Mayor Mike McGinn says he "will announce his intentions" for this year's mayor's race. He's raised $95,000, according to records filed with the Seattle Ethics and Elections Commission, so McGinn, his stack of cash, and his passel of supporters seem to have all the ingredients to bake a reelection campaign cake.

Is that $1 each from 95,000 of the California billionaire's best friends?

@6 You're probably right (unfortunately). I guess this means we'll be stuck with the gestapo SPD another four years at least.

I still won't vote for him and will campaign for whoever is running against him (still hoping he doesn't make it out of the primaries, but today that seems like a pipe dream).

The return of the Sonics will be McGinn's killing of bin Laden.

Sonics, Snow plows on arterials, and coming NHL team.

What do any of the 12 gnomish kings have? Seriously, it's all vague and they all love the global warming created by the Tunnel of Tolled Doom, so why switch?

He has done nothing to rein in the SPD. Otherwise I like him, but he won't get my vote this time around.

Too bad they don't have any voters.

There are lots of Sacramento Kings rumors flying around so methinks he might also announce the Sonics are returning to Seattle at the same time.
