After a day of whining and threatening, the Republican leadership finally allowed the "fiscal cliff" bill to the floor for an up or down vote, where it subsequently passed by a 257-167 vote. Drama queens. Only 85 Republicans voted for the bill, including all four Republican members of the Washington State delegation. Seattle's own Representative Jim McDermott was one of only 16 Democrats to vote no. [UPDATE: Adam Smith also voted no. Oops. My bad.]

FYI, a little mentioned part of the bill includes a two-year extension of the state sales tax exemption, a provision worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Washington filers.
