@1 and 2, I believe the three on backup are the Shindig regulars Darlene Love and the Blossoms. Love was on Letterman last week.

I love that Ms. Bass's obit makes clear that her taking AmEx to court for royalties energized her late career: what did she do when a secular institution handed her victory? Credited it to God, of course....

Quite a lot of them, I'll bet. It's not like 1965 was all that long ago. Though those of us who remember it well definitely have white hair by now.
