Oh, but not TODAY. Or tomorrow. "Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting." So the "major news conference" from the NRA will be on Friday, "at the appropriate time"—that is, no time actually given, on the Friday right before Christmas when, god willing, we'll all be taking a peaceable afternoon off and having some nog.

COMMON DECENCY. What can these people possibly plan to say?

Maybe we should all call them, "FOR MORE INFORMATION," at (703) 267-3820. Or email them at media@nrahq.org. They'd also like us to "Be sure to follow the NRA on Facebook at www.facebook.com/NationalRifleAssociation and on Twitter @NRA," where, you know, they're back after hiding out praying for four days.

If you're in Fairfax, Virginia, you could stop by at 11250 Waples Mill Road.
