Meanwhile in Afghanistan

CNN:

Ten girls were killed in eastern Afghanistan on Monday when a landmine exploded as they were out collecting firewood — the latest casualties in one of the most mined countries in the world.
What is this world coming to? No. More like: What this world is and has been for too long.

Oh, but surely families in Afghanistan are used to all the violence what with the continuous wars throughout their entire lifetimes and such.

How many kids were killed on that playground in Syria last month? Oh but they didn't look like our kids, so that wasn't neary as tragic.
