@31: When he said "you know, when a Man loves a Woman he (LITERALLY) can't imagine cheating on her."

He honestly believes it, not having ever been in a loving relationship.

@1: "Is he a prominent public figure advocating abstinence before marriage and monogamy thereafter?"

Yes, several members of his family used themselves as an example of these virtues while making a fulltime living on their family's moral purity.

These kinds of advertisements supposedly in support of "traditional" marriage remain unbelievable. How many Flatters have to sail around the world before it becomes round?

ask them what?

the world is full of cheating scum.

hetero. homo. bi. tri.....

there are also lots of people who actually love their spouse and are faithful (emotionally as well as sexually)

you girls seem to have missed or forgotten the point- people in love with their spouse do not advocate adultery for themselves.

Just ask Mark Sanford, Newt Gingrich, Henry Hyde, Chip Pickering, John Ensign, Vic Fossella, Larry Craig, Donald Sherwood, Ed Schrock, Donald "Buzz" Lukens, Dan Crane, David Vitter, and the list goes on and on.

@troll:

"you know, when a Man loves a Woman he (LITERALLY) can't imagine cheating on her."

I am madly in love with my wife and would never cheat on her in a million years.

As I write this, I am (LITERALLY) imagining cheating on her.

With Jesus.

Guess I just have a better imagination than most guys, eh?

@44 - I'm just happy to give her majesty an outlet for all her frustrations. I do wonder, though, if internet trolling falls under the purview of the monarch in general. When she dies, will Charles or William take over, or will we simply have to do without an anonymous troll?

This "FOR LIFE!" statement should only remind conservatives and religious groups that they are free to consider gay marriage invalid if they like, just as they're free to consider divorces invalid if they like. No one requires the Catholic Church to perform second marriage ceremonies for people who have been divorced

@7 -
you know, when a Man loves a Woman he (LITERALLY) can't imagine cheating on her.
Nonsense. Many a decent man has managed to not cheat on a woman, and there are probably sexual acts and arrangements within some marriages that some would consider cheating and some would not. But love for a woman does not erase the drive to have sex with other women (though it may be the basis of a contract wherein one agrees not to do anything to sate that drive).

The troll is a sore loser. There never was such a thing as "traditional" nor "natural" nor "biblical" marriage. And it takes Gay Americans to show that. Mr Savage does so by using the term (T.M.) and then showing it's fallacy when the light of reality hits it. Oh well such is life. The minority often clarifies the debate so the majority can understand it fully.

Troll baby doll, cry it out, cry it out...

@11 No one cares that much, since we can just scroll past the little gray bar if we don't want to see the stupid. We just need a few people to throw themselves on those grenades and announce in a real comment the rare cases that an anonymous comment is by someone else and worth reading.

Also, as @18 says, there's the fun of calling out the obvious closet case, if you like that sort of thing.

@1,5,7 (Troll): Seriously, dude. Go fuck yourself until you die.

I'm straight, married 31 years to my one and only, and a firm believer in the dignity and equality of every person (although I must admit, you are making me wonder if I should make an exception). No marriage affects my marriage, and I don't care what anyone else, gay, straight, kinky, whatever, does in the privacy of their own bedroom, as long as all parties are willing, capable of consent, and it doesn't require emergency responders or police reports.

Marriage is a commitment. It's not about sex. At least until your Evangeliban gains power and starts locking up fornicators, anyone can fuck around with anyone else whose mutual fancy they meet. Marriage is about life, sharing your life with someone. It's romantic, it's emotional, it's financial, it's a partnership in living. Sex is optional, but whether or not any couple indulges or forgoes it, is none of your fucking business, so you should quit stressing about it.

what a hoot!

right, Danny?

you know, when a Man loves a Woman he (LITERALLY) can't imagine cheating on her.

Love is that way.

it must not have been that way for you and Terry,
judging from your comments.

that is so sad.

we really don't understand what it is
that makes a man think he is attracted to another man
but we must take your word for it
that it is nothing like the Love a Man feels for a Woman.

so so sad.

oh gosh.

something else to feel sorry for you about.

So what is your point, Danny?

That Track Palin (who is that, even...) is a hypocrite?

We've never heard of Track.
Is he a prominent public figure advocating abstinence before marriage and monogamy thereafter?
Really?
Does he work for the CDC?

What, exactly, is your point, Danny?

What does it have to do with Traditional Marriage, Danny?

Do you gloat over cultural trends that tear down the stability of Traditional Marriage?

Spite and Gloating are ugly traits, Danny. We feel sorry for you.

Do you thrill to see broken marriages?
Unmarried women pregnant?
Babies born outside marriage?
Divorce? (especially in families with young children! is it giving you a boner, Danny?)

What is your point, Danny?
