1. For some reason, Public Policy Polling asked Americans if they believe Santa Claus is a Republican or Democrat:

A new poll by Democratic firm Public Policy Polling found that 44 percent of people in the United States believe that Santa Claus is a Democrat, versus just 28 who say St. Nick would cast his ballot for the GOP. An identical 28 percent say they're not sure of Santa's political affiliation.

Sixty-three percent of Americans believe that Mitt Romney would be on Santa's nice list, while only 51 percent of Americans would say the same thing about President Obama, which to me indicates that Democrats are much more forgiving than Republicans. In addition, 47 percent of Americans believe that there is a War on Christmas.

2. Yesterday, Newt Gingrich said the presidential race is Hillary Clinton's to lose.

I mean, if [the Republican nominee's] competitor in ’16 is going to be Hillary Clinton, supported by Bill Clinton, and presumably a still relatively popular President Barack Obama, trying to win that will be truly the Superbowl. And the Republican party today is incapable of competing at that level.

You'd better believe the Republican nominee. He's never wrong.
