UPDATE at 1:15 AM: Now that pot is legal, the SPD acknowledges that "you can use marijuana, and possess marijuana." Moreover, they say that even excesses of the law that legalizes possession will result only in verbal warnings. Here's the notice e-mailed to the city's 1,300 officers tonight:

Until further notice, officers shall not take any enforcement action—other than to issue a verbal warning—for a violation of I-502.
