We've been telling you about the Raygun Lounge, the bar-and-gaming venue that was Kickstartered into existence by the good folks at Gamma Ray Games, for months now. The Lounge's temporary liquor license finally came through this morning, which means that it's time to celebrate with Slog's nerdiest nerds.

Next Friday, December 7th, from 5 pm to 9 pm, Mary Traverse, Rob Lightner and Paul Hughes of the Stranger Testing Department, and I will be at the Raygun Lounge to play board games and card games with anyone who shows up. There will be special guests (including a few game designers and game artists who will teach their games to anyone who's interested) and, of course, there will be booze. If you show up right at 5, you can probably squeeze two longish games in, but if you can't show up until later, we'll announce when new games are starting so you can hop right in. No game experience necessary, and hardcore gamers are welcome to come and share their knowledge.

We'll be announcing the special guests in the days to come, and you should let us know if there are any games you want to try out. I'm ashamed to say that I've never played Settlers of Catan or Small World, so those two would be right up at the top of my list. But I'm open to just about anything; come and teach me your nerdy ways.
