I'm thankful for all of the straight people who threw themselves into the fight for marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington state.

Yes, thanks! And thanks to you Dan, for your columns & It Gets Better website. So much work has been done in the last few years to get voters to got FOR equal rights, instead of the easy, reactionary vote! WA state is rightly proud this Thanksgiving

*sigh*
I wish it would come up again here in Colorado so I could vote for Marriage equality. I think it might have a better chance this time round.

Today, I am thankful for Karma, who has been "outing" so many anti-gay bigots! Happy Thanksgiving, Karma!

From The Huffington Post on 11/20/12:
"A New Hampshire lawyer associated with an anti-gay Christian defense group was arrested on federal child pornography charges after allegedly taking a teenager to Canada where she reportedly convinced the girl to engage in sexual activity and let it be filmed.
Lisa Biron, a Manchester, N.H., lawyer associated with the Christian litigation group, Alliance Defending Freedom, was arrested by FBI agents on Friday morning on charges of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography and five counts of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Concord Monitor."

I am just so thankful to be alive in these days to see the tide turning, awareness increasing, and people realizing that CIVIL RIGHTS are, in fact, CIVIL RIGHTS. Period.

I mean, I knew we'd get here eventually... I'm just so thankful to see it with my own eyes...

Happy Holidays, everyone!

we are so grateful for that pioneer of Liberal Lifestyle Murphy Brown.

Taking an important first skip on our path to Gommorah.

Showing women (and their children) that single motherhood is a super hip frolic.

Now, half of all kids born in America share Avery's daddy-free life of bliss.

(up from just 10% in 1965. WE'RE WINNING!)

so, Murphy; our hat's are off to you.....

No doubt 20 years from now we will see that homosexual "marriage" will have had a similar effect on the society that single motherhood has.

(we're sooooo excited!.....)

@11

Don't be a dumbass.

Allow me to read to you from my book:

"Children living with single mothers are five times more likely to be poor than children in two-parent households. Children in single-parent homes are also more likely to drop out of school and become teen parents, even when income is factored out. And children who live with their biological mother and father do better than those who live in stepfamilies or with cohabiting partnersā€¦. In light of these facts, policies that strengthen marriage for those who choose it and that discourage births outside of marriage are sensible goals to pursue."

Again, don't be a DUMBASS......

@12

Danny, did you know that children raised by their real parents do better than children raised by homosexuals; even if one of the homos is the child's biological parent?

you should do a podcast about that........

yes, and maybe one day white liberals across america will actually do something to get equal voting rights for the 6.5 million people in the usa who don't have them by law!

one of these centuries. Surely. Any day now.

@12: Well, golly, that explains why the Christian right is working so hard to ban single motherhood and fighting to make it illegal for straight married couples with kids to divorce. It all makes sense now.

@16 Conservatives do want to cut back on entitlement programs that make life easier for single mothers. The theory is that if you take away her food stamps and her AFDC then a single mom will have no choice but to find Mr. Right and settle down.

I was pretty sure we would win here, but victories in 4 states? I'm still bouncing off the walls from that. We can't stop until all 50 states have equality.

Poor Danny.

If the Xtian Right eats a dog turd will you eat one also?

Bitter Angry Penis Envy of Maggie Gallahger is no foundation upon which to build a life.

Why doesn't the Left; and the Party Barack heads; work to Protect, Preserve and Strengthen Traditional Heterosexual Marriageā„¢?

You know, for the kids......

You really owe them one.

After all, it was when LBJ and the Democraps started paying women to have bastard kids that out of wedlock birthrate started to skyrocket.

The theory is that society gets more of what the government pays people to do.

Like having kids outside of marriage.

Barack and the Democraps are well aware of, and exploit that principle.

You know how some orders of Catholic nuns wear a wedding band because they are pledged to Jebus?

Well the Democraps have erected this huge Secular Humanist Cult of Dependency with millions of unmarried women who see the Democrap Jebus Barack (sorry Danny...) as their husband, who provides for them and their children.

So of course the loyal cult sisters vote for their Jebus who will keep the free birth control and free abortions and free medical care and free food stamps and free child care and free cell phones and free! free! free! coming.

A single mom doesn't have to find Mr Right and settle down.

Just not getting knocked up by Mr Worthless would be a big start.

(do you know by what percentage Food Stamps increased in four years of Obama?)

If only people with Republican values were allowed to raise children there wouldn't be any out of wedlock births! Republicans would never glamorize such a thing like celebrities do!

Be thankful for yourself then, Dan. It's reading blogs like yours that made me realise that I had to go from quietly agreeing with you on the sidelines to actively campaigning for marriage equality.
