I'm thankful for all of the straight people who threw themselves into the fight for marriage equality in Maine, Maryland, Minnesota and Washington state.

Yes, thanks! And thanks to you Dan, for your columns & It Gets Better website. So much work has been done in the last few years to get voters to got FOR equal rights, instead of the easy, reactionary vote! WA state is rightly proud this Thanksgiving

"A New Hampshire lawyer associated with an anti-gay Christian defense group was arrested on federal child pornography charges after allegedly taking a teenager to Canada where she reportedly convinced the girl to engage in sexual activity and let it be filmed.
Lisa Biron, a Manchester, N.H., lawyer associated with the Christian litigation group, Alliance Defending Freedom, was arrested by FBI agents on Friday morning on charges of transportation with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, possession of child pornography and five counts of sexual exploitation of children, according to the Concord Monitor."

I am just so thankful to be alive in these days to see the tide turning, awareness increasing, and people realizing that CIVIL RIGHTS are, in fact, CIVIL RIGHTS. Period.
I mean, I knew we'd get here eventually... I'm just so thankful to see it with my own eyes...

Children in single-parent homes are also more likely to drop out of school and become teen parents, even when income is factored out. And children who live with their biological mother and father do better than those who live in stepfamilies or with cohabiting partners…. In light of these facts, policies that strengthen marriage for those who choose it and that discourage births outside of marriage are sensible goals to pursue."

@16 Conservatives do want to cut back on entitlement programs that make life easier for single mothers. The theory is that if you take away her food stamps and her AFDC then a single mom will have no choice but to find Mr. Right and settle down.

I was pretty sure we would win here, but victories in 4 states? I'm still bouncing off the walls from that. We can't stop until all 50 states have equality.

Like having kids outside of marriage.
Barack and the Democraps are well aware of, and exploit that principle.
You know how some orders of Catholic nuns wear a wedding band because they are pledged to Jebus?
Well the Democraps have erected this huge Secular Humanist Cult of Dependency with millions of unmarried women who see the Democrap Jebus Barack (sorry Danny...) as their husband, who provides for them and their children.
So of course the loyal cult sisters vote for their Jebus who will keep the free birth control and free abortions and free medical care and free food stamps and free child care and free cell phones and free! free! free! coming.
A single mom doesn't have to find Mr Right and settle down.
Just not getting knocked up by Mr Worthless would be a big start.
