Religion Some Peace In the Middle East

@1 - The constant low level warfare will go on as always since Israel's policies will continue to preclude a political solution, but the last escalation of this sort was also right after Obama's election, when he also supported Israel's actions.

"Israel's policies will continue to preclude a political solution" like Israels disengagement from Gaza which was met with two years of rocket barrages BEFORE the "seige" began. Like Israel's policy of Hamas murdering all of its political opposition in Gaza after the first election. Those dang Israeli policies.

@3, Israel eventually pulled ground troops out of Gaza but didn't stop controlling its borders and didn't stop its expansion in the West bank and Jerusalem and didn't stop its racist policy of apartheid in general. If you want Israel to have a sensible negotiating partner to reach a political solution, it has to stop fueling extremists from either side.

yes Israel gave it back hoping for peace, then hamas in the last year sent about 800 ockets into israel, starting war.

If you and your family were dropped into my neighborhood, and my neighbors' houses razed to make room for them, my churches burned by them, my homeland taken by fiat and overwhelming military and monetary backing, yeah I'm pretty sure I'd fight to the death using every tool and advantage I could get my hands on.
