Now that we're mere days away from being one of the pot-smokingest, gay marryingest states in the union, I think Washington should embrace its role as the United States' laboratory of liberalism. California is too big, Vermont is too small, and Massachusetts is too old and fusty—Washington is perfectly suited, as a decently sized state with a big city, to keep pushing the boundaries of social thought in America. Let's face it: If we can elect Jay Inslee, Democrats, we can do anything!

So what should we do next? I'm not talking about the important issues that we need to keep grinding away at, like coal trains or finally electing Seattle City Council members by district. I'm talking about bold initiatives that will lead the way for the rest of America. Let's put it to a vote:
