Obama's Handling of Sandy Receiving Very Positive Reviews

Posted by on Wed, Oct 31, 2012 at 2:42 PM

WaPo:

Nearly eight in 10 likely voters say the president has done an “excellent” or “good” job dealing with what’s been labeled a “super storm.” Almost as many give positive reviews to the federal government’s response generally. Even two-thirds of those who support Republican Mitt Romney in next week’s presidential election say Obama is doing well in this area.

The results for the hurricane response question are from interviews Tuesday evening, one of the four “waves” of interviews in the current release from the Post-ABC tracking poll. The one-night margin of sampling error is plus or minus six percentage points. As was the case Tuesday, responses in the Northeast across a range of demographic and political variables were on par with those throughout the tracking poll, which started Oct. 18.

What am I feeling right now? What are my senses telling me? Another picking-at-a-vegetarian-breakfast-burrito moment is in the making.

After Obama wins, it will be called his defining moment. That's bullshit, of course.

There's too many "quotes" in that "article."

Obama is having the equivalent of post-breakup sex with the American people now that Mitt Romney has pretty much won the election.

Be nice to the Romney trolls. A week from today they won't remember his name except to inform us that THEY were for Ron Paul all along.

Good Evening Charles,
There's nary a doubt in my mind that Pres. Obama & Gov. Christie are handling this disaster well (they actually have no alternative BUT to handle it well and without politics). Evidently, a few polls reflect that. Good on them, Obama & Christie. I wish the people of New Jersey well.

However, super storm Sandy ISN'T Hurricane Katrina. Bush wasn't running for re-election a mere week and a half before that crisis. And, New Orleans isn't New Jersey. The latter is greatly damaged but not like the former was. Also, New Jersey has far fewer casualties. This is an "October Surprise" all right that remains to be played out.

as the pathetic responses in 3 and 9 indicate, this situation has worked out very well for Obama. The incumbent looks great by doing what he should do and doing it well. Romney is neutered because negative attack ads (which are the only thing he has) just won't work right now.

Add in how this NECC/Meningitis thing has suddenly started to sink its claws into Romney, and I think this momentum deadlock will start shifting back to Obama just when it needs to.
