Seattle Times Reporters Fact-Check The Seattle Times Company's Political Ads

Posted by on Fri, Oct 26, 2012 at 8:22 AM

Love this: Seattle Times reporters Susan Kelleher and Linda Shaw have turned the "Truth Needle" on their own company's controversial print ads supporting Republican Rob McKenna in the governor's race.

What we found: Half true

Which is another way of saying: half false. You gotta read the whole thing, and it's also worth considering the broader implication: A company that's in the business of publishing the truth is paying for ads in a statewide political contest that are only half true.

Why should The Times be any different than the Stranger?

@1: My god you are boring. You can not even troll correctly. Fourteen year olds on YouTube have more talent than you.

Absolutely surreal and sad. Can't imagine the morale in the newsroom right now.

Well, the publisher would claim, this is proof that the newsroom is independent of the views of the corporation.

Stranger'sWorstNightmare has got to be one of the most overhyped online handles I've ever seen.

Step your game up or change your handle!

@8, I have this mental picture of a 13-year-old wearing an Insane Clown Posse t-shirt standing in the bed of a pickup truck flashing gang signs and roaring "I'M YOUR WORST NIGHTMA--" just as his friend accidentally steps on the gas and starts forward, dumping him into the mud.

Fnarf, all that's missing from that picture is a homemade backyard wrestling ring and some scattered empty cans of Four Loko.
