Babies:

IVF? Can't.
Rape? Must.

That really does sum it all up.

All this and still the republican party is chugging along at a healthy pace, with a real chance to win the presidency.

This is one weird, fucked up country.

The Daily Show and Colbert Report should be required viewing for anyone who wants to vote in this election.

Shocking that this shit is on ANY party's platform with the majority of Americans NOT having a penis.

And how is it that anyone still believes that anti-abortion has fuck all to do with pro-life?

Oh, I know; because our nation is filled with these people:

I'm convinced that it is hate.
If you're white and middle class then you don't have to worry about it.
You will always have the option of an abortion.

But, you know, those-people who aren't like you, they don't have your values, like how important the life of a baby is so they treat abortion like birth control.
When they aren't squirting out babies to get more welfare money from your tax dollars.

@10,

And misogyny. A lot of women hate women, including themselves.

@ 10, 11

Sadly, that is all too true. I doubt any of them think of it like that, I do believe that many people are very capable of fooling themselves about why they support Romney. I think that, at the root, most of the votes he gets will be based on hate and fear. Hate of black people, or "foreigners" (I'm looking at you, birthers), or gay people, or women. Even the ones who say they are doing it for his economic policy are often doing it out of hate and fear of poor people.

How sad that this election may be decided on because of that sort of hate and fear, in this age when we are supposedly so enlightened.

@12,

The few times I make the mistake of poking my head into, say, Facebook comments on other people's timelines, it's clear that Romney supporters have not a clue what he stands for, what he plans to do in office, or even why they're voting for him. They've convinced themselves that he'll be better, somehow. Needless to say, every last one of them was white, most were male, and most were over 50.

We love you, Jon Stewart!

@7 your picture is awesome. What is that, an alligator skull?

@8, 9, and so on -- I'm trying to convince myself that it's kind of death throes. The comfortable, privileged white guy who ambled along practicing a sort of malign neglect has realized that his days are numbered, and he's starting to get panicky, and crazy.

That way, see, this too shall pass. Otherwise, I have to accept that about half the country is not only batshit crazy mean, but will forever be so, instead of dying off properly and taking their crazy mean with them.

It just goes to show how incredibly idiotic American women are.

Dozens of millions of them will vote for republicans regardless.

Thanks for posting this Dan. We can't see this in Australia on his website, so I wouldn't have seen it if you hadn't put it up there.

I just love lower taxes more than air, how much lower you think we could get if I sacrificed all MY air? I mean you can have YOUR air, as long as I can sell mine for a profit fuck.

@20: The reason is that bowfins are very basal, as far as osteichthyes go, and the bones of the skull aren't very modified from the primitive condition, and so they serve as a useful example specimen. You can look at them and pick out pretty much everything, including the branchiostegals and all the stupid little opercular bones.
