In Case You Missed It: The Three Best Moments from Tonight's Debate

Posted by on Mon, Oct 22, 2012 at 8:14 PM

I'll have some deeper analysis up as soon as I can write it, but for now, here's a recap of the three biggest moments of the foreign policy debate. The "fewer horses and bayonets" moment was, hands down, the liveliest moment of tonight's debate, and it really helped out the Obama campaign's portrayal of Romney as an ancient, backwards-facing incompetent:

Easily the second most vigorous attack came when President Obama defended his Israel policies and pushed back against Romney's claims that Obama went on an "apology tour". I especially love the way President Obama spat the word "fundraisers" across the table at Mitt Romney, who brought Sheldon Adelson along with him on his Israel trip.

And, finally, here's President Obama's closing statement:

Also, Romney's grasp of geography is right up there with Chris Columbus's.

Quick, which one below came from tonight's debate and which one came from Mitt's op-ed piece?

A) "I love cars, American cars. I was born in Detroit, the son of an auto chief executive. "
B) "I'm a son of Detroit. I was born in Detroit. My dad was head of a car company. I like American cars."

Did you notice Romney's initial use of "Arab," "hope" and "change" all within about ten words of each other? Apparently the dog on the roof is still whistling in the wind.

Romney didn't own one of those three best moments from the debate? I am shocked.

Also, Romney committed a major gaffe when he stated that the leader of Iran should be arrested by the world court for genocide due to his words!

WTF!

ā€œI’d make sure that Ahmadinejad is indicted under the Genocide Convention. His words amount to genocide incitation,ā€

What a clueless asshole!

Maybe he should visit these families...

It would by funny if it wasn't so pathetic and downright evil.

Still, what an inspiring performance!
